Dominican-American filmmaker Ricky Rosario has continued to expand his passion for storytelling throughout the past decade and has made significant strides across a multitude of Film, TV & Digital Content.
“Abuela’s Luck”, a short film, he wrote, directed and produced, was optioned by HBO Latino and made its television debut in October 2019. The short film streamed across all HBO platforms for two years to critical reviews. It was listed as one of Remezcla’s Top 10 Short Films by US Latino Directors for 2018.
Currently, Ricky’s newest short film “B Is For Bachata” has started its film festival run for 2024 and is screening across the country. Ricky has worked with brands such as Harry's, Wendy's, Timex, Disney, and some of the biggest names in music
In the world of sports, Ricky served as an Executive Producer on the the award-winning documentary short film “Life with CTE: A Warren Sapp Story”. The film premiered in 2023 to rave reviews. Ricky was also a Producer on the award-winning short film, “Supa Hair”, through the 2023 LALIFF x Netflix Inclusion Fellowship.
In April 2019, the short film “It’s Who You Know”, starring Emmy and Academy Award winner Cloris Leachman, was optioned by Aspire TV and made its television debut as part of their “Urban Indie Film Block” program. “Prologue”, an award-winning short film that Ricky produced through Fourwind Films, screened to diverse international audiences all over the world.
Currently in development, Ricky has the short film “Jodón”, the feature film versions of “Abuela’s Luck” and “B Is For Bachata”. As well as a TV pilot spec, “Havana on the Hudson”. All of these stories tapping into the vast Latino experience from an engaging point of view.
With a dual undergrad degree in Marketing and Finance from Seton Hall University (Class of ‘11), Ricky is highly budget conscious when it comes to efficient and compelling storytelling.
Outside of filmmaking, Ricky is a photographer, an avid investor and runs a financial literacy page, Finance For You. In 2022, Ricky created a Sportscards & Gaming Media company, The Summit Agency.
Ricky splits his time between Los Angeles, New Jersey and Miami.
